Treadmill walk on a steep incline. Brutal! Good walk. My calves certainly got a good work out.

This morning the rain poured and the temperature continues to be cold. Last night I planned to do an early morning run. Well, I did not set my alarm thinking I can wake up without it. I thought wrong. I didn’t make the run; the rain and cold did not help. After reading misspudding’s blog I will definitely make the effort next time. Running smart and knowing what your body can endure is a good thing. One more thing. This is the season of rain, snow, and cold temperatures. To all who accomplished their training goals under adverse weather conditions-Rock on!

I am still sore for playing broomball friday night (ouch). Lots of ibuprofun and ice packs on Saturday. This body is not the same as it was twenty years ago. I had fun but I paid the price. Oh well. After watching a show on the ironman in Hawaii, I should not complain. They are a vert special group of people. Kudos to all who participated.

The last couple of days my leg has been in pain. As I ran today, no pain while running. That is good. I need to restart my speedwork and strengthening.

I tell you running after a long day at work is tough. The “easy way out” thoughts go through my head as I approach home. In the back of my mind I know I will not regret it. My mind was tired and I all I wanted to do is rest. Well, I thought to myself, “I planned it so I will do it.” After it was over I felt good and accomplished my goal. Disciplining yourself is hard work. I often struggle with it. This time I won.

Today is my day off. This weekend we were able to cut down our christmas tree at a tree farm, throw our traditional family christmas tree trimming party, decorate the house with christmas decorations, and set up the nativity scenes. We all had fun creating a atmostphere of celebration inside our house. This all took place in the last two day. Now that the weekend is about to end, I sit comfortably in front of the tree lit and decorated christmas tree. I am write this post while listening to Michael Crawford Christmas CD. This weekend was very busy but, a lot was accomplished. My wife and I also celebrated our twenty fourth anniversary with family and friends. Lots of laughter and dessert. For the record I ate a small piece of gingerbread cake drizzled with carmel sauce and a scoop of chocolate mint and chip. Yum, Yum.
Tonight, as the night winds down the house is very quite and I am enjoying the music and the moment. Tomorrow is another day and will be chock full of challenges and opportunities. It will be great!
